Telšiai is one of the most important centers of the Jewish diaspora in Samogitia. As early as 1873. The Jewish high school "YESHIVA" is established (the school continues its activities in Cleveland, USA), where TORA is taught by the world-famous Telšiai method. Here, in Telšiai, the chief Lithuanian rabbi lives in the interwar period, the first progymnasium for Jewish girls in Lithuania is opened, a rich and wealthy Jewish community lives, and two Jewish banks operate. The artistic accent Skrynia is intended to remind the importance of the extinct Jewish diaspora of Telšiai not only in Telšiai, Samogitia, but also in a much wider geographical space, the ability of the diaspora to create and develop businesses.
